After a fairly frantic couple of weeks in Bangkok, Chiang Mai was the reset I didn’t know I needed. Slower streets, fewer people trying to sell me a tuk-tuk ride every ten metres, and a lot more time spent just sitting still.
Nowhere to be and nothing to do about it — turns out that was the whole point.

Doi Suthep at sunrise, before the tour buses arrive, is a completely different temple to the one everyone else sees a few hours later.
The Sunday Walking Street market became a fixture — an entire road closed off, food stalls end to end, and absolutely no reason to rush through it.
