What I build
Custom websites.
Simple, clean, custom-built websites that are fast, easy to navigate, built for desktop and mobile, and SEO optimised to help connect people with your business. Have a look at the samples, build details and common questions below, and get in touch if you'd like details or a quote.

Component library.
Every site above is assembled from the same set of parts. Cards, forms, motion and a shared theme, rather than each one being drawn from scratch. They are documented and browsable, so you can see the options before anything is built, and choosing one is a conversation rather than a revision round.
Build tools.
I build with established, well-maintained open source tools rather than proprietary page builders. That keeps ongoing costs down (and free in most cases), no platform subscriptions and no per-seat licensing. Plus, it keeps the site yours: the code is standard, so another developer can pick it up without being locked into a system only one agency can touch.
- AstroThe framework the whole site is built on.
- GitHubVersion control, and where every deploy starts.
- CloudflareHosting, on a network with servers close to your visitors.
- ReactFor the parts of a page that have to be interactive.
- DecapThe CMS — how you edit your own content, without me.
- MDXMarkdown for long-form content, with components in it.
FAQs
Common questions.
How much does web development cost?
It depends on scope and features required, as a small brochure/feature site is a very different job to a content-managed site with a CMS, or one with a booking or e-commerce platform like Shopify behind it. The migration process can also factor in if you have an existing site with content. I'll talk through what you actually need and send a written quote up front with a clear breakdown, so there are no surprises later. As I'm an independent developer, costs are lower than an agency or software company, and I prioritise keeping your ongoing costs lower too.
As a guide, a custom site could start from $3,500, or a content-managed site with a simple CMS could start from $5,000. Ultimately will be based on the development hours required. Final pricing will depend on the scope, content requirements, features, DNS and hosting effort and support needed, so get in touch and I can provide a tailored quote after discussing your specific requirements.
How long does it take to develop a website?
A straightforward small business site is usually a couple of weeks. Larger builds including a CMS or more custom components can take longer. As I am also an solo developer, it will depend on how much time I have available to work on it, and a big factor is how quickly you can provide content and feedback. I will give you a realistic estimate of the timeline when we discuss your project.
Do you offer graphic design services?
I design and build websites, using custom layouts and elements to meet your requirements, but I am not a graphic designer. The samples websites shown above are all themes I have created, using my own designs. I can work with your existing branding, logos and content, or add simple graphics and visual elements as needed.
Can you redesign my existing website?
Yes. I can rebuild an existing site on a modern stack while keeping the content, structure and items that already work. And I would suggest its worth doing if you pay for a template-based site that is slow, hard to update, or not mobile-friendly. I can also help with content migration if you have an existing site with a lot of content.
Do you offer ongoing web support?
Yes, for sites that I build I'm happy to provide support. That can be for content updates, small enhancements, fixes and general troubleshooting. Hosting for these builds is low cost in most cases, and I am happy either to provide annual support to keep managing it or to hand everything over if you would rather run it yourself. Support can be billed at hourly rates after estimating the requirement, or an ongoing annual support inclusive of set hours.
Do you provide search engine optimisation services?
I am not a digital marketing consultant and I do not offer standalone SEO campaigns. What I do is build to SEO best practice throughout, such as semantic markup, fast load times, a sensible heading structure, meta and Open Graph tags, structured data, clean URLs and an XML sitemap. A custom build also gives far more control over that markup than a template platform does, so if you bring in an SEO specialist later, they have something to work with rather than a system fighting them.
